چکیده
Abstract Background After a traumatic brain injury, disturbances in the attentional processes have direct negative effect on functional recovery and return to complex activities. To date, there is no good attention remediation treatment available. The primary objective of this review pilot study provide an overview research evidence evaluate feasibility implementing tDCS protocol improve disorders patients with mild complicated severe subacute TBI, hospitalized inpatient rehabilitation facility. Our secondary extract preliminary data observational information participants’ response treatment. Methods Participants were recruited from consecutive series admitted TBI unit subspecialized regional center. They received 20-min stimulation 3 times week for weeks. A neuropsychological evaluation was performed before after intervention. We collected sociodemographic clinical characteristics as well about satisfaction, tolerability, adverse effects. Results One hundred sixty-four between September 2018 January 2020. fifty-eight excluded, 6 presumed deficits enrolled. None completed intended. No major side effects occurred. Conclusion Non-invasive neurostimulation promising enhance TBI. Implementation fulfill purpose intensive center has its limitations. made recommendations facilitate implementation similar projects future. Trial registration ISRCTN, ISRCTN55243064 . متن کاملDivided attention impairments after traumatic brain injury.
This research investigated whether people with severe traumatic brain injury (TBI) are impaired on divided attention tasks requiring working memory. In experiment 1, a severe TBI and control group performed two tasks requiring working memory separately and concurrently. Results showed that the TBI group had impaired divided attention when performing the two tasks concurrently, although the two ...
متن کاملSustained Attention After Traumatic Brain Injury
Sustained attention has been shown to be vulnerable following traumatic brain injury (TBI). Sleep restriction and disturbances have been shown to negatively affect sustained attention. Sleep disorders are common but under-diagnosed after TBI. Thus, it seems possible that sleep disturbances may exacerbate neuropsychological defi cits for a proportion of individuals who have sustained a TBI. The ...
متن کاملEffect of Nesfatin-1 on Permeability of Blood Brain Barrier, Neurological Score and Brain Edema after Traumatic Brain Injury in Male Rats: A Behavioral and Biochemical Study
Background and purpose: Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is one of the most complex diseases of the central nervous system (CNS). Nesfatin is an 82-amino acid effective polypeptide in CNS. In this study, we investigated the role of nesfatin in neuron protection in the process of diffuse concussion in rats and also its effect on the level of matrix metalloproteinase-9. Materials and methods: In thi...
